What Families Say about Dr. Schmid

Dr. Regula Schmid has been an absolute life saver for my family. She has supported us through four years of IEP meetings, making sure my son received every service he truly needed. …I can’t recommend her enough!

Katie L.

…my highest recommendation… Thanks to her knowledge… our son’s disciplinary actions were removed from his record. …the minute you meet with her you will understand why it was so wise for you to choose her. …Dr. Schmid truly believes that all kids deserve a tailored education.

I highly recommend her to any parent seeking knowledgeable and compassionate support for their child’s learning needs.

Sarah T.

Dr. Schmid helped me out in a very hard time in my life.  Dr. Schmid believed in me when the school didn’t. She stood up for me when no one else did and got the school to grant the accommodations I needed to be successful. Dr. Schmid is the best advocate.

About

About Dr. Schmid

I have over three decades of experience in various roles in education: Teacher, Staff Developer, Literacy Expert, Vice Principal, Principal, and Professor in San Diego. In those roles, I saw inside elementary and secondary schools and oversaw IEP and 504 meetings as well as disciplinary proceedings. Under my leadership, schools transformed. Students achieved higher academic levels, suspension rates dropped, and student attendance increased. I hold the Advanced Knowledge Specialist Certificate granted by the International Dyslexia Association and have presented on advocacy at the International Dyslexia Association conference, DyslexiaCon.

In my current role as an associate professor at Azusa Pacific University I teach a variety of methodology and theory of learning courses. My research and interests focus on effective instruction and advocacy and education consulting for students.

I homeschooled my daughter from TK-8th grade, when she successfully transitioned to High School, and am currently still homeschooling my 7th grade twins.

As an advocate, I walk alongside with you in your and your child's education journey and fight for your interests and best practices for your child.
